Legally Blonde Reality Show??

February 16, 2008 · 12 Comments

MTV is using a reality show to cast the next Broadway Elle Woods. I’ve wanted Becky Gulsvig to replace Laura Bell but I guess it has to be some new unexperienced person. I’m not saying the new person won’t be good, they might be fabulous! I would rather them just cast the next Elle without the help of the world and in private. They already filmed Legally Blonde and put it on TV!! They don’t need anymore publicity. I think Becky is a great Elle and they should just cast her. I have six amazing reasons:

1. She can actually sing good.

2. She looks the part.

3. She has Broadway experience.

4. She’s been the Elle understudy since San Fran.

5. She can act good.

6. She’s nice!

Oh gosh! I just realized the San Fran production started over a year ago! Wow, I can’t believe a year has past since I became a fan. I love this show so much. And this is the first show that I’ve been a fan of since the very beginning.

MTV and Legally Blonde producer people: Cancel the reality show and cast Becky!

Wow, this post was short! but thanks for reading!

I really don’t like that they are doing this. Becky deserves it. I can’t believe this is happening.

I think the show is a great idea. I mean look at the new leads of Grease. They were cast from the reality show, Grease: You’re The One That I Want! and they rock.
And besides, Becky is playing Elle in the touring cast of Legally Blonde, so everyone wins.

    Hello,
Yes! At last, I made the transcript by myself.
I’d like to introduce it a associate producer,
how I love this musical and bring to Tokyo, Japan.
I understand to replace for L.B.B. , it’s the best thing is understudy Ms. Becky Gulsvig but,
lately, Delta – Nu new cute personel appear on the stage, did you see her ?

It was good experience for me to watch the stage from section ORCH, row A seat 118 but,
it seems like a ” trench ” in the battle feild
because, the seat position may be for hard-core fun’s I think, I could not see anything action at deeply space on the stage, profoundly acter and actress play too. I can not understand why the seat be there …
    Anyway,
I read a playbook by myself at the seat whole that time to study, and check by myself, actor and actress spoken, between song with lyrics.

It seems like a strange Japanese seating for
‘ assainn to leading ‘ , all of acter and actress on the stage might thought that.
    By the way,
is there the playbook on the market already? Thanks for read. Hisaaki

lately Delta – Nu new cute personel, she appear on the stage now, Ms.Haven BURTON use to …
By the way, why now Ms. Haven BURTON not play on the stage ?
Let me know somebody knew it. Hissaki.

Hello, again ! Thanks pick up my note.

The New York Times – Review Theater –
“ Legally Blonde the musical ” by Jerry Mitchell
My name is Jerry Mitchell and I am the director choreographer for Legally Blonde, the Broadway musical.

The first think you have to do is figure out how you are going to tell the story, where does the character sing, when does the character sing, then usually for me the choreography is usually the last thing, the story has to be told first and once I hear the music, then the music will tell me how that character is going to dance, or when the character is going to dance. I knew I wanted to take that specifically the film video we knew we wanted to take that video and turn that into some sort of live presentation which is how we came up with the “What You Want” number her bursting into the admissions office and performing for the guys to try to get into Harvard.

You know, choreography for musical has really one job and that’s to tell the story. I remember having a conversation with Jerome Robins when I was working on Jerome Robins’ Broadway, way back in the late 80’s I was his associate for two and a half years and we were talking about choreographers and their style and sometimes how style becomes more important than the substance. And if you think about Jerome Robins’ productions of “Westside Story” and “Fiddle on the Roof” the truth of the matter is, the Jets don’t dance like the folks that are on the roof, they just don’t, they are specifically choreographed to tell the story of the musical that they’re in. They don’t pirouette with their legs and passé they drag their feet on the floor, they wear different costume, they have beards in Fiddle and they don’t in Westside Story it’s all part of it. It’s the way the character moves is really the of part of the story telling that is most important.

People say that I am very athletic, I have a very athletic style or they say that I am very sexy because the Broadway Bears connection, Full Monty and stripping and being comfortable with not a lot of clothes on, but I think energy is really what is Jerry Mitchell. I happen to live a very fast paced high energy life and I like it that way, I like being full of energy and I think it keeps me alive. But you know, when I was doing Never Gonna Dance, for instance, I studied Fred and Ginger in style in which they danced I didn’t want to copy them but I certainly wanted to emulate it and thought it was very successful on the three pas de deux that Noah Racey and Nancy Lemenager did giving you that sense and style of that period.

The truth of the matter is that choreography is finding a way to work its way into musicals more than it did say ten years ago, part of my belief is when the AIDS epidemic first hit I don’t think people wanted to touch. I don’t think that people wanted to use their bodies to tell a story, and I think that’s what dance is all about, I think we sort of froze up, and I think it’s changing I think people are realizing that dance can tell a story, dance can move a story, but the style in which dance serves in a Broadway musical has changed immensely, there are not a lot of dream ballets and I don’t foresee a lot of dream ballets coming back because we as a society are unwilling to sit through a lot of dream ballets. I certainly love to do one but it would have to be a specific reason in a the specific story would have to serve the purpose and would also have to keep the audience interested.

When an audience leaves the theatre at Legally Blonde, I want them to leave with hope, but, you know, I want every audience to leave with hope when I do a musical because I think that is one of the great thing a musical can offer and audience hope for their own life, hope for their own problems, hope to solve whatever it is that’s going on and just hope that tomorrow’s gonna better, it’s gonna be so much better, that’s really what I hope for them.

    It’s Hisaaki again,
As everybody read, the following NewYork Times Mr. Jerry Mitchell’s interview, I sent.
Becky will be the best, but
if Mr. Jerry Mitchell and the company thought ,they seeking
    ” Energy & Hope ” by MTV’s
    Legally Blonde Reality Show,
they want to try to search , and try to find out new Elle Woods from these amateur people,
it’s kind of dream come true as Laura Bell’s speech on the Monday after Thanksgiving,
153 Days to Opening First Day of Rehearsal at 42nd street Jerome Robbins studios.

    Then, Laura Bell’s said,
” This is a dream come true for me.
This is all I ever wanted to do since I was a little girl. For those of you I know already, I love you so much, and for those I don’t, I really look forward to falling in love with you as well.”
I think Mr. Jerry Mitchell and the company might try to find out newest a personal.
    Delta – N.

” Legally Blond the musical ” at the Palece Theater on Broadway, it was the greatest night in this world.

From beginning, Audience can not stop doing splendid applause for a while, when Laura appeared on the stage.

Then, I’m not sure it was happning or not, but Laura happen on a sheet of tissue paper at she’s pin heel…
I think Laura improvise to playing she’s cute action… she pretended wipe away she’s tear for this all Audience.
There is every reason for all people like Laura Bell Bundy.
Actually, Laura might not crying yet at this morment.

Again, All people standing ovation for Laura more at this actions …
Finally, Laura conducting all people in the theater be seated to continue this begining part.
It was approx. 30second passed than normally at this part, then Laura started to say…

I was seating in M-101 at Place Theater.
Ms. Heather Hach who is the Best and Cool Intelligent Writer of Legally Blond the musical
seating at my right side, L-102,
Ms. Nikki Snelson ( Former as Brooke Wyndham play actress ) cheering Laura from MEZZ Box C,
Laura’s great Mom. be in front of her, Of course …

All people standing ovation this very begining part for Laura !

Tracy as SERENA & Asmeret as PILAR played the Most powerful Spl. cheers
for Laura on this stage, Then Laura, kindly called them their ” Real Name ” cheerfully on the stage with Laura’s warm regars, that mean ” Thank You “, I think…

Orfeh as Paulette , Christian as Emmett doing “Bend and Snap!” at the court scene to cruck Manuel as Nikos ,
Kate as Vivienne and Natalie as Enid, singing their an Ultra-Super-High tone vice.
Paul as Ensemble and… well-known as sean on MTV playing cool as usual, that was his way…
Andy as rised in popularity U.P.S. guy Kyle/Dewey well done as he doing always… e.t.c. … e.t.c.

All of the cast member tried their the best singing and perform at tonight, I’ve ever seen that.
I watched this show around less than 30 times … by the way
Laura gaves great smile with she’s lip said ” thank you ” for me (?) from the final stage !

But, We’re done with that for a while.

Thank you Laura for your great smile for all finally!

Broadway media has confirmed the news that Laura Bell Bundy will be briefly returning to
the role of Elle Woods, taking over the part on tour, temporarily replacing
Becky Gulsvig who has broken a toe.
Laura Bell Bundy (now a Nashville, TN resident) is currently flying to Washington, DC,
the tour’s current stop through tomorrow and will begin performances
on January 13, 2009 in East Lansing, Michigan, the tour’s next stop.

The length of her stay has not yet been revealed but it’s noted that Bundy is to be
a Miss America judge on January 24, 2009. Sorority star Elle Woods doesn’t take “no” for an answer.
When her boyfriend dumps her for someone more “serious,” Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books,
and sets out to go where no Delta Nu has gone before: Harvard Law.
Along the way, Elle proves that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

Laura Bell Bundy has been performing lead and feature roles in New York and in Regional Theater since the age of nine.
She is most familiar to Broadway audiences for originating the roles of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical,
and Amber Von Tussle in the Tony Award winning musical, Hairspray, as well as a stint as Glinda in the smash hit, Wicked.
In addition to her work in the theater, Ms. Bundy has also appeared as Marah Lewis in “Guiding Light” from 1999-2001
as well as guest appearances on “Cold Case,” “Veronica Mars,” and Comedy Central’s “Strangers With Candy.”
She can also be found in such films as “Dreamgirls”, “Life With Mickey” and “Jumanji”.
She covers everything from rockabilly to Dixie-flavored pop on her debut CD, “Longing for a Place Already Gone”,
    which she co-wrote and co-produced.

In its first year on Broadway, “LEGALLY BLONDE the musical” earned seven 2007 Tony Award nominations,
ten 2007 Drama Desk Award Nominations, a 2007 Outer Critics Circle Award and the chorus of the musical was honored
by Actors’ Equity Association’s Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) with the first ever ACCA Award.
The musical also ranked in the top ten list of the most requested Ticketmaster “Arts & Theatre Events” for 2007.

In the fall of 2007, MTV aired “Legally Blonde the musical” in its entirety to stellar ratings
and was subsequently nominated for two 2007-2008 Daytime Emmy Awards.
The Original Broadway Cast Recording for “Legally Blonde the musical,” was released on Ghostlight Records,
an imprint of Sh-K-Boom Records, and captured the #1 slot on the Billboard Cast Album chart
and charted at #86 on the Billboard Top 200.
The album has continued its success, charting every week as one of the top-selling Broadway cast recordings
and soared to the Top 10 albums (of any genre) on iTunes once the show premiered on MTV.

L.B.B.’s toe is Okay always, She has Back !
